India : NTPC commissions its first electric vehicle charging station in Vishakhapatnam

The charging facility was commissioned in Simhadri in Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and has been designed in house by the engineering team of NTPC’s power project at the location

New Delhi: State-owned power generator NTPC Ltd today announced it has commissioned its first charging station for electric vehicles in Vishakhapatnam in line with the government’s plan to switch to electric mobility.

The charging facility was commissioned in Simhadri in Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and has been designed in house by the engineering team of NTPC’s power project at the location.

“The station can have three Electric Vehicles charged simultaneously at the facility and is fully equipped with all amenities like parking bays, lighting, power supply and Wi-Fi access for automated monitoring and CCTV surveillance,” the company said in a statement.

The company said it is committed to promote and accelerate the adoption of Electric Vehicles across the country by providing the much-needed mobility infrastructure to support EV growth.
